National Food Showdown
Now on its 5th year, The National Food Showdown held last September 17-18, 2011 at the World Trade Center, is an annual culinary event, participated and attended by professional chefs and HRM schools and universities. Spearheaded by ABS-CBN through Lifestyle Network and Food Magazine publication, the event is a highly anticipated event amongst professional chefs as well as budding culinary students around the country who vie for culinary excellence and prestige through the various culinary skills competition both on a regional and national level. The Manila leg is the culmination of the regional food showdown where winners of the regional shall compete for championship.
Magnolia Gold Butter and Magnolia Quickmelt sponsored a branded competition featuring both products as the key ingredient. Chefs and Culinary students participated in the event with Magsaysay Center for Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. The winning recipes are Smoke Tomato Cappuccino Soup, Grilled Chicken Benedict with Magnolia Quickmelt Cheese Bernaise Sauce.
Judges were Linda Floro, Jake Enrique, Sau del Rosario, Eugene Raymundo, and Heny Sison.
