Warm Kangkong and Mushroom Cheese Dip

Ingredients

2 tbsp                      Magnolia Gold Butter
2 tbsp                      Olive oil
1 3/4 cup                Onion
6 cloves                  Garlic, minced
100 grams             Button mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp                      Baron All-Purpose Flour
1/2 cup                    Chicken stock
1 cup                       Whipping cream
200 grams             Kangkong leaves, blanched
2 cup                       Magnolia Quickmelt, grated
1/4 cup                    Magnolia All-Purpose Cream
1/2 tsp                     Cayenne pepper
                                 Salt and pepper to taste
                                 Baguette slices, toasted

 

Procedure

 

  1. Melt butter with oil in a heavy large pot medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic; sauté for about 6 minutes until onion is tender.
  3. Add flour and stir for 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in stock and cream; bring to boil while whisking constantly.
  5. Stir frequently and cook for about 2 minutes until mixture thickens.
  6. Remove from the heat.
  7. Stir kangkong, sour cream, cheese and cayenne.
  8. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Transfer dip to serving bowl and serve warm with toasted baguette slices.
